Elder
Nathaniel C.B. Jones, Sr. preached his initial sermon on Sunday, March 2, 1975 in the Bible Way Church, Richmond, VA, Bishop
Christal T. Hairston, Sr. Pastor. Two weeks later, Elder Jones started ministering in his mother’s home, where the first
interest of the church was born. A month later service moved to Downs Funeral Home in Crewe, VA.
In 1978 services moved to Fowlkes Store on Mountain Hall Road, Crewe, VA. On Easter Sunday, April 7, 1980 services
moved to Old Hickory Grove Baptist Church. We were served a warrant for trespassing at Old Hickory Grove Baptist Church on
September 19, 1981. The church suffered a fire, November 14, 1981; services resumed at Downs Funeral Home.
On February 12, 1982 services moved to Sharon Seventh Day Adventist Church, Crewe, VA. On May 7, 1982 we purchased
land to build the church. In August 1984 we had groundbreaking and began construction on the church. We held our first service
in our church building on November 4, 1984.
Elder Jones is not only interested in the growth of our church but also the growth of the community at large.
He and his friend, Mr. Frank Robertson founded a Young Boys Club in the 1970’s to create some recreational activities
for the neighborhood children. The club later expanded to include girls as well.
Elder Jones has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Nottoway Department of Social Services;
past Chairman of The Nottoway County Voter’s League, member of the Nottoway County Civic League; Administrative Assistant
to the Central District Overseer and now serves as District Elder and Administrator for the Central District Bible Way Churches.
Elder Jones is dedicated servant of the Lord and is often called on by members of the church and community in
their time of need for prayer, counseling and other services.
Elder and First Lady Jones are always willing to lend a helping hand to those who are in need. They have been
foster parents for many children in this community. For several years the church sponsored a Thanksgiving Day Feeding Program
annually to assist those who are shut in and/or less fortunate in the community. Through Elder Jones’ teaching at church
and in the community, he has spiritually enriched the hearts and lives of many people.
In 1994, Road #630 was named in honor of our church- Bible Way Road. God continues to take us higher. In 1998
we were blessed with a new ministry: F.I.V.E. Ministry: (Faith, Image, Vision, Excel). When we walk in Faith, we’ll
have Image, then Vision and we will Excel!! The Lord has blessed the church with one minister and three evangelists.
In 2001 the Lord gave Elder Jones a vision of changing the church name from Community Bible Way Church to Dominion
Worship Center World Wide Ministries. After toiling with the changing of the name, Elder Jones obeyed and announced the name
change to the church. The Lord spoke to Elder Jones concerning new property and he searched for it, believing God was going
to reveal it. In August 2001 we had a revival. Evangelist Tracey Troy of Whiteville, NC was our guest speaker. She gave a
word of prophecy to Elder Jones that the Lord was going to increase the ministry and that probably we would relocate. Three
weeks later the property we now own came available. We pursued the property and the Lord even gave us the exact figure that
we were to pay for the property. On the day of the auction, October 11, 2001, it shut down with the exact figure the Lord
had said. After planning for the Miracle Crusade with God’s Miracle Man, Bishop Clayton Johnson, the school informed
us we could not use the Nottoway Middle School Auditorium as planned. God spoke to Elder Jones to use the facility that He
had given us. So in the two weeks before the crusade we worked diligently getting the place ready. And on February 23, 2003
we had our first worship service in our new facility.
The Lord blessed us in a pattern of threes just as he did Paul who prayed three times about the thorn in the
flesh, Jonah who stayed three days in the belly of the fish, and Jesus who rose on the third day. In July 2001, Elder Jones
introduced the church to signing a 90-Day Tithe Covenant agreement; three months later, October 11, 2001, we purchased our
new property.
